Reclaim Your Pelvis
PREHAB / REHAB / REWILD
Do you feel like you could be doing more for your pelvic wellbeing, but squeezes aren't working / you forget to do them? Maybe you're not sure of what's happening where and how best to take care of yourself down there?
What if pelvic wellbeing was about unwinding, releasing, building awareness and connecting with your playful, sensual self? The parts of us that sometimes get lost in motherhood.
Playful and Restful in equal measure - this workshop is for women between postpartum and perimenopause, who'd like to prehab or rehab their pelvis in a way that's accessible, embodied and fun.
Not a kegel in sight... there are othger ways to connect and strengthen your core and foundational muscles.
Join us for this day of embodied balance, aligning with the Autumn Equinox - the perfect time for self care and reflection in circle.
10am - 5pm
SATURDAY 20th September
• THE DOJO, BATH (off Walcot Street)
early booking pricing from £97
Ever feel out of sync with your body or yourself?
Maybe you spend a lot of time in your head, in logic-mode, getting things done and taking care of others, and you long to slow down... Disappear into the woods (or run away with the circus?!).
You enjoy yoga, but aren’t sure which movements actually support your pelvic wellbeing.
Things feel stiffer, achier. Some parts of your body just aren’t working quite like they used to.
Let me say this clearly:
You are not broken.
And this isn’t about “fixing” anything. It’s about giving yourself time, space, and new ways to explore what feels good and supportive as your body changes (which it is - we are in constant flux).
This day is even more especially for you if these things chime:
- You’re in midlife and want to reconnect with your body
- You spend a lot of your day sitting
- You experience back pain or pelvic discomfort
- You’ve had difficulties in your pelvis in the past, maybe after birth
- You’re up for full-body smiles, letting go, and playful movement
This small-group workshop is created with women approaching midlife in mind - those who crave more joy, movement and connection.
Whoever you are, if you’re drawn to this and open to exploring pelvic awareness in a kind and respectful space, you’re warmly welcome.
No eperience is necessary - a grown up sized hula hoop to keep is included in your booking, so you can practice at home.
Spaces are limited, you are warmly invited to join - any questions just get in touch.
My WTF is going on with my pelvic floor moment...
I'd been teaching people how to do kegels for years.
And then after the birth of my second child I realised I had got it all wrong.
My pelvic floor stopped working properly and squeezes did absolutely nothing. The long and slow twitch squeezing exercises, holding and releasing with every feed, every boil of the kettle, every traffic light. I still struggled with stress incontinence, I couldn't chase my son, laugh with friends, jump around freely and certainly not sneeze without leaking. What the fuck was going on?
I'm not surprised that women often live with incontinence for 5 years before getting help - and I have no judgement on that having seen some of the help that's offered - I'm sideeyeing a certain app and winceing at the memory of hearing too many women say they were told to watcxh a video on youtube and get over it essentially. Sadly, it doesn't seem to get better with perimenopause care, you might be told you have a prolapse, but that you don't need surgery... yet.
As we go through life's changes, our bodies adapt cleverly to manage the ways that we move (or sit) through life. Working with the body is a massive gaemchanger. Especially as pelvic floor happiness isn't a one-and-done thing. It's an evolving part of us - especially as hormones shift in midlife, which nowadays often smooshes with postnatal recovery
The real key is building awareness, allowing space for softness and a kinder approach.
If a muscle anywhere else in your body was overtired, would you squeeze the hell out of it?
There's so much more to our amazing pelvises than just squeezing harder. Your breath, your nervous system and the way you move all have their parts to play.
